A pencil holder wearing a puffer jacket: quilted panels all round, with a zip, a collar and sleeves running up the sides. It holds pens, pencils, markers, brushes or small tools, and it is sturdy enough to be knocked about a desk. About two hours of printing, and the quilted panels take filament colours well - solid winter colours, pastels, or something loud.

An angled, ribbed plant pot for a windowsill, with a drip tray that stands it clear of its own water. The pot tapers up from a 45-degree base and drops into a tray with a hollow reservoir, so what drains out sits below the base instead of wicking back up into the soil, and the tray lifts off to empty. The floor has a 2.5 mm centre hole, a ring of six, and a ring of twelve at the outer edge. Forty-eight round bead ribs run up the angle and on to the rim, so the pot has something to grip and looks alive in daylight. Three sizes, each one as wide as it is tall: 2.5"x2.5", 3.25"x3.25" and 5"x5". It prints as two pieces, no supports and no assembly, in PLA - which is happy on an indoor sill, while a window that bakes in direct sun or a spot outside wants PETG. The last picture is a render of the printable model; the others are photographs of the printed pot.

A skeleton with print-in-place hinges at the shoulders, hips and knees, so the arms and legs swing as it moves and it settles back into a dangle when it stops. It prints as one piece with no supports and no assembly, 44 mm long, with a hole through the skull for a hook. Order a pair and you get two skeletons. The "+ hooks" option arrives with the metal hooks fitted; the plain one is the printed plastic on its own.
Design by tomo3D

A door corner for Halloween: a cat with a knife, cut to sit over the corner of a doorframe and be read from across the room. 7.9 by 7.8 inches and 5 mm thick, it prints flat in about an hour with no supports, and a 0.6 mm nozzle is an option the designer mentions for a chunkier line. Designed by H & R 3D and printed under Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-ND 4.0), unchanged as published. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A guide that keeps a garden hose off the flowers: the hose runs through the roller and the stake holds it where you want it, so dragging it round a corner stops flattening the bed. 4.7" tall, printed as a body and a stake. Shown as a render, not a photo.
Design by Tulmuz

A round indoor pot with a pleated, fabric-like skirt, standing on its own matching base so it can be moved without leaving a ring on the shelf. Two pieces, both printed in the same colour, 4.6" wide and 3" tall together. Shown as a render, not a photo.

A glasses rack that lives on the wall: six cradles in a row on one 210 mm plate, 22 mm deep, so six pairs hang out of the way of a counter or a bedside table. A hanging books-read counter: a sign with a row of numbers that slide into it, so the count can be moved along as the year goes. A strip that threads onto a guitar strap and holds a stack of picks, so a fresh one is within reach in the middle of a song: 100 mm long and 25 mm wide, printed in one piece. A record sleeve stands on a ledge under a patterned back panel, and the ledge carries NOW PLAYING across its face in relief, so the record on the shelf is announced rather than guessed at. 200 mm wide and 159 mm tall - wide enough for a 12 inch sleeve - printed in one piece with no supports under the sign. A stand for a pair of drumsticks: a flat 195 mm base and a cradle post that takes them by the shaft, so they stand upright on a riser or a shelf instead of rolling off the kit. 238 mm across as printed, in two parts, with the post sitting in its seat on the base. A mosquito trap that uses a jar you already have: a funnel that drops into a mason jar's mouth, so a jar of water and a spoon of sugar becomes a trap. The cone lets a mosquito in and the jar's own walls keep it there. Three funnels come off the plate, 76 mm across and 47 mm tall, for the jar sizes the designer covered - standard jam jars among them. Designed by IanFoulds, a remix of the Mosquito Trap by Urasxman, and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A capo in two printed parts: a jaw that sits across the strings and the lever that clamps it down, 92 mm wide so it spans a standard six-string fretboard. It goes on the neck above the fret and holds the strings at the new position, which is what lets one shape be played in any key. Designed by Kevdev, a remix of the Guitar Capo by HarleyPrints, and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A plectrum printed flat at half a millimetre, 27 mm tall and 24 mm across, with the designer's design across the face - the pun in the name is the whole idea. A pick holder with four feet that stands on an amp or a desk: slanted slots take plectrums by the tip so they can be pulled out one at a time, and the block is 90 mm long, 28 mm wide and 12 mm tall. The slots are cut at an angle, which is what stops a pick sliding back down into the holder. Designed by gareth7562 and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). A practice mute for trombone, printed in three parts: the long tapered body that goes down into the bell, the flared cup that caps it, and the small collar that keeps the two together. 250 mm long and 193 mm across the cup, so it takes a full-size bell. The cup is what does the muting, so the horn can be played in an apartment without the neighbours learning the set list. Four plectrum shapes, two of each, printed flat as one sheet: a teardrop, a jazz point, a wide triangle and a rounded standard, at 1.0 and 1.4 mm so a player can find the thickness they like without buying four packs. Each pick is about 34 mm long and the texture on the back of the thicker ones keeps a sweaty thumb where it belongs. Six mushroom shelves, each printed with its wall mount built in - no bracket to add and nothing to glue, so a screw in the wall is the whole installation. The caps come in six shapes and sizes, so they can run up a wall beside a plant or dot about independently. Designed by Dr.D, who remixed Moiras_creations' Mushroom shelves - both makers are credited on this page - and printed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0). A mid-century planter with vertical ribs and its own drip tray, printed at 0.24 mm layers with two walls and 8 per cent infill - the profile the designer recommends for the balance between speed and detail. He also notes a 0.6 mm nozzle does the same job faster and builds just as solid, and that the model scales cleanly if you want it bigger.
