Two spirals in one print: an outer shell that twists one way and a core that twists the other, turning past each other as you fiddle. Printed in a single colour it reads as one tapering cone; give the shell and the core a colour each and the two spirals separate in the eye as they turn, which is what the designer's own pictures show. The profile that prints it is 0.2 mm layers, 3 walls, 15 per cent gyroid infill, PLA, no supports, standing upright exactly as supplied.

A pencil holder wearing a puffer jacket: quilted panels all round, with a zip, a collar and sleeves running up the sides. It holds pens, pencils, markers, brushes or small tools, and it is sturdy enough to be knocked about a desk. About two hours of printing, and the quilted panels take filament colours well - solid winter colours, pastels, or something loud.

An impossible passthrough built as a pyramid: the parts pass through one another and no amount of turning lets them go. 2.8" tall, about 21 g of plastic.

An impossible passthrough shaped like an hourglass: two halves that turn through each other and stay locked together. 2.8" tall, about 24 g of plastic.

A hard hat that goes on a keyring - the dome, the brim and the little ridge down the middle, printed in one piece with a hole through the top. 1.5" across, and it works as a key tag or a desk charm.

A gyro fidget spinner: three curved rings interlock around a centre post and whirl as one, so it prints in a single piece with no bearings and no assembly - just flick it and go. The rings are loose in their track out of the printer, which is the part that takes a few tries to get right and the reason this one gets measured before it ships.
$1.34Was $1.99
A printable reading ruler with an integrated bookmark pointer. The pointer holds your line while you read and marks your place when the book closes - pick the length that suits your book.

A skeleton with print-in-place hinges at the shoulders, hips and knees, so the arms and legs swing as it moves and it settles back into a dangle when it stops. It prints as one piece with no supports and no assembly, 44 mm long, with a hole through the skull for a hook. Order a pair and you get two skeletons. The "+ hooks" option arrives with the metal hooks fitted; the plain one is the printed plastic on its own.
Design by tomo3D

A skull with flat faceted planes rather than curves, with the top of the cranium hollowed out for a small plant or a succulent. 4.3" tall, printed in one piece - a Halloween pot that stays on the shelf in November.

A door corner for Halloween: a cat with a knife, cut to sit over the corner of a doorframe and be read from across the room. 7.9 by 7.8 inches and 5 mm thick, it prints flat in about an hour with no supports, and a 0.6 mm nozzle is an option the designer mentions for a chunkier line. Designed by H & R 3D and printed under Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-ND 4.0), unchanged as published. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A hexagonal tube cut into one continuous spiral, so it springs and flexes in the hand and the turns of the helix roll past each other under a thumb. It prints as a single piece and needs no assembly, and it stands 2.8" tall by 1.3" across. Shown as a render, not a photo.
Design by NerdHerder

A frog that jumps: press its back and it springs off the table, and the pond bowl catches it. Pick the frog on its own or the bowl with it - the bowl is 5" across, and three frogs fit on one plate if you want a set. Shown as a render, not a photo.
Design by Niski
$7.97Was $11.80
A ruler that folds: nineteen 160 mm segments that hinge end to end, plus the two end caps, so it measures a room and then folds down to a pocket. The full set is 19 segments; the smaller option is the same design at 70 per cent, which is the one for a desk drawer. Shown as a render, not a photo.

A desk caddy printed in one piece: a raised back that stands a phone at a reading angle, a round well for pens, and a square tray for a watch, keys or a card, with a slot for a charging cable to pass through. It is 7.1" wide by 3.5" deep. Shown as a render, not a photo.
Design by Maker76

A planetary gear set printed in place: six small gears mesh between a sun gear and a toothed ring, so turning any one of them turns all the rest. It is 2.5" across and prints as a single piece with nothing to snap together. Shown as a render, not a photo.
Design by HurtTree

A glasses rack that lives on the wall: six cradles in a row on one 210 mm plate, 22 mm deep, so six pairs hang out of the way of a counter or a bedside table. It prints as one piece with nothing to assemble, and the arms take wire or plastic frames by the bridge. Designed by Matthew and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A hanging books-read counter: a sign with a row of numbers that slide into it, so the count can be moved along as the year goes. It is two plates - the sign with one of each number, and a second sign with the numbers again so the count can pass ten - and either can be bought on its own. Shown as a render, not a photo.

An inner cone passes right through an outer one and neither of them comes apart - that is the whole trick, and it prints as a single piece. Roll it in your hands and the two bodies slide past each other, which is the part that keeps fingers busy. Printed in two colours the cones separate in the eye and the pass-through reads as impossible; printed in one it looks like a solid cone until it moves. The picture is a render of the printable model - real photographs of the print go up once the first one is made.

A T-rex that holds your page: the dinosaur stands on the spine of the book with its legs either side, and the tail curls over the top. It prints flat in one piece, 3.6" tall. Shown as a render, not a photo.

A stackable glasses stand: a fin that the cradles slide onto, so the tower grows to whatever height the collection needs. The cradles come in three widths - 67, 77 and 87 mm - and each holds one pair nose-down by the bridge, which suits slim readers and deep sunglass frames alike. The plate prints a whole tower's worth of parts, 167 by 199 mm laid out as the designer arranges it. A modular glasses stand: a round 143 mm base with a spindle, a post that carries two long arms, and a cradle that stacks on the spindle, so two pairs or a shelf-full can be kept upright and out of the way. The arms take frames by the bridge and the base is heavy enough not to tip when one pair comes off. The Thinker, sitting on a plinth with his chin on his fist and a pair of glasses resting across his knee: 101 by 141 mm and 114 mm tall, printed in one piece as a desk glasses holder. The pose is what does the work - a pair sits in the crook of the arm and the knee, so it is always where it was put. A fidget spinner small enough to live in a pocket: one piece, no bearings, no axle to glue, printed in place so the two halves and their weights come off the plate ready to spin. It is a 15-minute print in the designer's own profile, which is why it makes a good giveaway or market-stock item. Printed in a silk filament the spinning face catches the light. The picture is a render of the printable model - real photographs of the print go up once the first one is made.

A reading guide that frames one line at a time so the page cannot swim: 5.1" x 1.4", 1.4 mm thick, light enough to leave in a book. Kept for kids learning to read, and for anyone whose attention slides down a full page. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

Two strands twisted around each other into a pen stand: a double helix about 22 cm tall on a 14 cm square base, printed in one piece with nothing to assemble. Pens drop into the gaps between the rungs and lean out along the twist, so a handful of them fan apart instead of clumping together in a cup - and the base is wide enough that a full stand does not tip. Empty, it is a desk ornament rather than a mug with pens in it, which is most of what a pen holder does all day. Printed in PLA at a 0.2 mm layer, about 34 g of plastic. Designed by AndreUser and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). The picture is a render of the printable model - real photographs of the print go up once the first one is made.
