A pencil holder wearing a puffer jacket: quilted panels all round, with a zip, a collar and sleeves running up the sides. It holds pens, pencils, markers, brushes or small tools, and it is sturdy enough to be knocked about a desk. About two hours of printing, and the quilted panels take filament colours well - solid winter colours, pastels, or something loud.

An angled, ribbed plant pot for a windowsill, with a drip tray that stands it clear of its own water. The pot tapers up from a 45-degree base and drops into a tray with a hollow reservoir, so what drains out sits below the base instead of wicking back up into the soil, and the tray lifts off to empty. The floor has a 2.5 mm centre hole, a ring of six, and a ring of twelve at the outer edge. Forty-eight round bead ribs run up the angle and on to the rim, so the pot has something to grip and looks alive in daylight. Three sizes, each one as wide as it is tall: 2.5"x2.5", 3.25"x3.25" and 5"x5". It prints as two pieces, no supports and no assembly, in PLA - which is happy on an indoor sill, while a window that bakes in direct sun or a spot outside wants PETG. The last picture is a render of the printable model; the others are photographs of the printed pot.

Christmas ornaments in the shape of balls, in three sizes - 40, 60 and 80 mm across - with the number of double ribs going up with the size: six on the smallest, ten in the middle and fourteen on the largest, each rib 3 mm wide. Each ball prints in two pieces, the ball and the bottom that closes it, and the designer prints that bottom with a support so the curve comes out clean and the ball sits tight against it. Designed by Jakub Lattenberg and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

Four plectrum shapes, two of each, printed flat as one sheet: a teardrop, a jazz point, a wide triangle and a rounded standard, at 1.0 and 1.4 mm so a player can find the thickness they like without buying four packs. Each pick is about 34 mm long and the texture on the back of the thicker ones keeps a sweaty thumb where it belongs. A santa hat with the tip curling over: the brim is a raised band, the crown is domed and the tip hangs past the brim, so the shape reads from the side as well as the front. Each hat is 23.8 x 15.3 mm and 5.5 mm tall with a hole through the crown for a hook, and the plate prints six of them, which is three pairs. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A practice mute for trombone, printed in three parts: the long tapered body that goes down into the bell, the flared cup that caps it, and the small collar that keeps the two together. 250 mm long and 193 mm across the cup, so it takes a full-size bell. The cup is what does the muting, so the horn can be played in an apartment without the neighbours learning the set list. A pick holder with four feet that stands on an amp or a desk: slanted slots take plectrums by the tip so they can be pulled out one at a time, and the block is 90 mm long, 28 mm wide and 12 mm tall. The slots are cut at an angle, which is what stops a pick sliding back down into the holder. Designed by gareth7562 and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). A sleigh and a reindeer, printed twice each: the sleigh has a curled runner and a seat, the reindeer has antlers and a tail, and both are 5.5 mm deep so they hold shape from the side. The plate holds four earrings, a pair of sleighs and a pair of reindeer, and they mix on one ear each way. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A rail that a CD jewel case stands in, ribbed along its length so the case leans back instead of sliding forward, on four short feet that keep the disc off the shelf. 149 mm wide and 30 mm tall - the width of a standard case, with a little room either side. Designed by ToToKia and printed under Creative Commons Public Domain. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A plate of music notes cut flat at 3 mm: single quavers, beamed pairs, a dotted note and the odd small rest, from 25 mm up to 67 mm long, so a wall, a noticeboard or the front of a piano can be dressed with them. They print lying down, which means no supports and a clean face straight off the plate. Designed by EcneNomma and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). A plectrum printed flat at half a millimetre, 27 mm tall and 24 mm across, with the designer's design across the face - the pun in the name is the whole idea. Thin picks bend more than thick ones, so this is the one for strumming rather than for shredding. Designed by marshal.meacham and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). A capo in two printed parts: a jaw that sits across the strings and the lever that clamps it down, 92 mm wide so it spans a standard six-string fretboard. It goes on the neck above the fret and holds the strings at the new position, which is what lets one shape be played in any key. Designed by Kevdev, a remix of the Guitar Capo by HarleyPrints, and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A mosquito trap that uses a jar you already have: a funnel that drops into a mason jar's mouth, so a jar of water and a spoon of sugar becomes a trap. The cone lets a mosquito in and the jar's own walls keep it there. Three funnels come off the plate, 76 mm across and 47 mm tall, for the jar sizes the designer covered - standard jam jars among them. Designed by IanFoulds, a remix of the Mosquito Trap by Urasxman, and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A hanging books-read counter: a sign with a row of numbers that slide into it, so the count can be moved along as the year goes. Four miniature garden tools - shovel, spade, pitchfork and rake - about 2.8" long, with the hafts and heads modelled properly rather than blobs. A set for a dollhouse garden, a terrarium or a plant shelf. Shown as a render, not a photo.

A guide that keeps a garden hose off the flowers: the hose runs through the roller and the stake holds it where you want it, so dragging it round a corner stops flattening the bed. 4.7" tall, printed as a body and a stake. Shown as a render, not a photo.

A Santa in his sleigh for the corner of a door frame: the sleigh runs behind him as a counterweight, so the piece sits up on its own along the top corner of a door or a window. The designer's updated file carries both the left-hand and the right-hand version, so the pair is what is printed. Designed by lindnjoe and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

$20.24Was $29.99
A mid-century planter with vertical ribs and its own drip tray, printed at 0.24 mm layers with two walls and 8 per cent infill - the profile the designer recommends for the balance between speed and detail. He also notes a 0.6 mm nozzle does the same job faster and builds just as solid, and that the model scales cleanly if you want it bigger. Designed by Nordic Creativa and printed under Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-ND 4.0), unchanged as published. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

Six mushroom shelves, each printed with its wall mount built in - no bracket to add and nothing to glue, so a screw in the wall is the whole installation. The caps come in six shapes and sizes, so they can run up a wall beside a plant or dot about independently. Designed by Dr.D, who remixed Moiras_creations' Mushroom shelves - both makers are credited on this page - and printed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0). A little town under snow that prints as one piece: rooftops, houses and trees drifting into each other, with holes modelled through the houses so a micro LED string can be threaded in and the windows light from inside.
