A short sword bookmark with its own sheath: the blade marks your page and the scabbard clips back over it. 5.7" long, printed flat, the two pieces together weighing about 8 g. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

Design by Forged in Filament

Two strands twisted around each other into a pen stand: a double helix about 22 cm tall on a 14 cm square base, printed in one piece with nothing to assemble. Pens drop into the gaps between the rungs and lean out along the twist, so a handful of them fan apart instead of clumping together in a cup - and the base is wide enough that a full stand does not tip. Empty, it is a desk ornament rather than a mug with pens in it, which is most of what a pen holder does all day. Printed in PLA at a 0.2 mm layer, about 34 g of plastic. Designed by AndreUser and printed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). The picture is a render of the printable model - real photographs of the print go up once the first one is made.

A three-part seed germinator - base, insert and lid - 4.5" x 5.5" and 20 mm deep, printed in whatever colour you pick. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

Design by 3dmonios

A modular hydroponic tower printed as twelve parts: a base, the column that stacks, five growing cups and the plates that close the sides. The column is 220 mm across and 128 mm tall, each cup 55 mm. The modules come apart, so a tower can be built one section at a time and taken down again. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

Design by user_139533078

A set of fifteen Archimedean solids - the truncated and snub forms of the five platonic shapes - each 24 to 33 mm across and printed as one plate. A desk set for a maths classroom or a geometry shelf. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

Design by mikan

A volcano model 5.9" across and 3.1" tall, printed as one piece - a desk piece, or the model for a school project on volcanoes. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

Design by euro100xx

The 2 to 9 times tables on one flat plate, 5" x 3.6" and 1.6 mm thick - a card that lives in a pencil case rather than on a screen. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

Design by kot1199

A reading guide that frames one line at a time so the page cannot swim: 5.1" x 1.4", 1.4 mm thick, light enough to leave in a book. Kept for kids learning to read, and for anyone whose attention slides down a full page. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

Design by fgiancarelli

A set of gear examples for teaching - the gears and the pins that hold them, printed as one plate, each gear 80 mm across. Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

Design by osamutake

The Thinker, sitting on a plinth with his chin on his fist and a pair of glasses resting across his knee: 101 by 141 mm and 114 mm tall, printed in one piece as a desk glasses holder. The pose is what does the work - a pair sits in the crook of the arm and the knee, so it is always where it was put. Designed by Abz and printed under Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-ND 4.0). Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A plain fidget spinner with no ornament on it at all: a body, three arms and a bearing seat in the middle. Five sizes come off the one plate, from a 1.6" one that fits in a pocket up to a 2.7" one, and the plate also carries the grips that go in the bearing seat. Pick the size you want - each is printed as one piece. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by MakerShed

A modular glasses stand: a round 143 mm base with a spindle, a post that carries two long arms, and a cradle that stacks on the spindle, so two pairs or a shelf-full can be kept upright and out of the way. The arms take frames by the bridge and the base is heavy enough not to tip when one pair comes off. A pencil that bends: the barrel is printed as a chain of flexing segments, so it folds in your hand and springs straight again, and it still looks like a pencil with a point at one end. 4.8" long, printed in one piece. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by TinkerTogether

A cactus that clicks: the body snaps onto a keyboard switch, so the whole cactus is the button and the click comes from the switch inside it. Four designs, sold one at a time - pick the cactus you want, about 1.3" tall, and it prints in two pieces that snap together without glue. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by UKSTL

A star that spins: the points are cut so it turns on its axis in the hand and keeps turning. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by CreaitivityStudio

A stackable glasses stand: a fin that the cradles slide onto, so the tower grows to whatever height the collection needs. The cradles come in three widths - 67, 77 and 87 mm - and each holds one pair nose-down by the bridge, which suits slim readers and deep sunglass frames alike. The plate prints a whole tower's worth of parts, 167 by 199 mm laid out as the designer arranges it. Designed by Badger Sound Forge and printed under Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-ND 4.0). Shown as a render of the printable model, not a photograph.

A textured clicker with a body and a set of button caps: the caps press into the body and click under a thumb, and the spare sizes in the set let you choose how stiff it feels. 2.6" long, printed in one go. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by ArmadilloFDM

An inner cone passes right through an outer one and neither of them comes apart - that is the whole trick, and it prints as a single piece. Roll it in your hands and the two bodies slide past each other, which is the part that keeps fingers busy. Printed in two colours the cones separate in the eye and the pass-through reads as impossible; printed in one it looks like a solid cone until it moves. The picture is a render of the printable model - real photographs of the print go up once the first one is made.

Design by What3d

A snake, printed flat as one piece: 9.8" from nose to tail, no supports anywhere, and off the plate in about an hour by its designer's own estimate. It prints lying on the plate, so the whole thing is one layer stack rather than a tower that can topple. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by user_3738174853

A 3x3 clicker pad: nine keys on one printed body, each on its own spring, so the whole thing clicks under a thumb like a tiny keyboard. 2.6" square, printed in one piece with nothing to assemble. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by Print3DFamilyFidgets

Two bands that print as one piece: the finned outer ring's ridge sits in the inner band's groove, so it is locked on but free to spin, with no bearings and nothing to assemble. The groove is a BALL RACE - a circular channel, with the ridge as the same circle held 0.4 mm off it - so the surfaces the two parts face each other across are vertical, which is what lets it print in place and still turn. The ring is 27 mm across and stands 7 mm, and the fins are trapezoids: wide where they join the sleeve, narrow at the tip, so nothing on it is a blade waiting to be knocked. It comes in three sizes, 16.5 mm (US 6), 18.2 mm (US 8) and 19.8 mm (US 10) across the finger hole, all at the same price, and the download is a 3MF with a plate for each, so you can print whichever fits - or all three. Print it with a brim and z-hop switched on: a small ring has a small footprint, and z-hop keeps a moving nozzle clear of what is already printed. The STL on its own is the smallest of the three. The photo is a render of the printable model - real photos of the print go up once the first batch comes off the printer.

A phone stand with a woodgrain surface that all but disappears behind the phone, so what you see is the screen standing on the desk rather than the stand holding it. A deep groove with a lipped front edge takes a phone upright for video calls or on its side for standBy and night-clock mode, and it fits anything from a small handset up to a Pro Max. Printed in PLA at 0.2 mm layers, 15% infill, no supports. It is designed for a wood-fill filament, which gives it the grain it is named for, though any matte colour prints just as well. The picture is a render of the printable model - real photographs of the print go up once the first one is made.

Design by M_LAB

A ghost bookmark: a flat spectre that hooks over the page, thin enough not to splay the spine. There are seven of them in the file, each a slightly different ghost, so pick the one you want - about 1.2" by 4" and printed flat. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by PrintcessJacqueline3DDesigns

A clicker keychain with four buttons that press and click, printed in place so nothing needs assembling. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by Print3DFamilyFidgets

A hexagonal fidget that prints flat in a few minutes and clicks between your fingers - no supports, no assembly, no settings to tune. 2.0" across. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by LangHjornArt

A flat key tag that holds the key by its bow rather than its ring, so it lies flat in a pocket and does not rattle. 2.2" long, about 1 g of plastic, printed in one piece. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by Katejot2017

Ten layered fidget discs off one plate - each about 3" across, each with its own cut-through pattern and its own way of spinning and clicking. Pick the design you want; the picture on each chip is that disc. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by PenguinPrototypes

A thin blade for digging the lint out of a phone's charging port, with a hook at one end and a flat scraper at the other. 34 mm long and a fraction of a gram, so it prints three at a time in a minute - one for the desk, one for the car, one to lose. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by eclien

A ball that screws into its own cage - the thread holds it, and it spins from one end to the other without ever coming free. 3.9" tall, printed in place in two pieces that come off the plate already assembled. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by Elaak

A beer crate for batteries, scaled down to sit on a shelf: stacked sides, a slotted top and a handle you can actually lift it by. Holds a row of AA or AAA cells - pick which, they are separate crates. About 2.7" long. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by JSBallpython

A ruler that folds: nineteen 160 mm segments that hinge end to end, plus the two end caps, so it measures a room and then folds down to a pocket. The full set is 19 segments; the smaller option is the same design at 70 per cent, which is the one for a desk drawer. Shown as a render, not a photo.

Design by PenguinPrototypes

A frog that jumps: press its back and it springs off the table, and the pond bowl catches it. Pick the frog on its own or the bowl with it - the bowl is 5" across, and three frogs fit on one plate if you want a set. Shown as a render, not a photo.
